GNC Cultural Program 2007!

GNC has been the main initiator, promotor and the catalyst of preserving of our beloved culture, tradition and identity amongst our new generation in our new land, since its establishment. Its one of the main objectives is to preserve this tradition for generations to come.

To celebrate one of the main festival Seasons of Nepal here in Sydney, keeping the tradition of past years alive, GNC proudly presents "Ritu - Ranga" (Colors of Seasons) on the occasion of Dashain and Tihar 2007.

Unlike the four Seasons in Australia or some other countries, there are actually six Seasons in Nepal - Sharad, Hemanta, Shishir, Bashanta, Grishma and Barsha. These Seasons distinctly have unique characterstics, flavours and are celebrated with seasonal festivities and colors. Traditionally Nepalese people would like to attach themselves to the immediate surroundings and the nature. They have been educating their children of the importance of this association for generations by observing varieties of festivals.
