| Update : Till Week 8 before the first break. |
We have just wrapped up week 8 before our big break. Lots of dramas lots of excitement and lots of surprising results.
Nepalese Thunderstorm still leads the ladder after scoring 100% from all the matches where as Club Nepal has sneaked into second position by defeating tough Gorkha Boys though have played one more match than HYC, SFC and GBFC. Himalayan Youth Club has climbed one position to third after a dissappointing draw with Laligurans FC who lies still at number 7 after losing 3 consecutive matches. Sagarmatha FC who lost their third match to TRCC but were unlucky to get all three points from GBFC in week 7 lies in 4th position and is narrowly followed by Gorkha Boys in 5th due to goal difference. The Re-Creational Club, who has proved already that they are here to stay and to stand any challenges in their first ever season by any old club lies in 6th with 2 wins and 1 loss. They did win their 4th match but was disqualified due to disciplinary action taken upon them by the organisers. This resulted into the winning points been given to Friends United who are still at the bottom of the table and winless so far. Granville Rhinos and Hurstville United finally registered their first win of the season in week 7 successfully defeating Friends United and Laligurans FC respectively.
After 8 consecutive weeks of football, 8 consecutive weeks of excitement and dramas, we hope every player, every team and every club including fans and friends and even organisers and their momo team will enjoy this much needed one week break.
GNC Soccer Tournament will be back on January 10 with the exciting match between NTS vs HUFC and HYC vs SFC.
Till then we wish everyone a Very Happy New Year 2010. Please take care.

In such a sunny and bright day, the clash between GBFC and HUFC was sure to be an entertaining and nail biting with presence of massive crowd to support their teams and others to enjoy the game and hot hot MO MO.
Tournament favourite GBFC started the game brightly with few early chances but couldn't capitalised. HUFC started slowly but then picked up their tempo when they hit the bar and soon later found themselves in one goal lead when they scored. After many chances created and missed both team were unable to score any goals in first half and so as the second half started. GBFC were determined to get the score level but the HUFC keeper was keen to keep the lead as it was.
As everyone were thinking that HUFC was going to be the new champ and also the refree was about to blow the final whistle, out of no where, GBFC managed to score the goal with the help of poor defending from HUFC, that shocked not only HUFC but also many people who were watching it. The celebration of GBFC was the proof after they got the equalising goal.
The game went into extra time. By then GBFC had regain their self belief and were determined to get the championship. GBFC were awarded a free kick when their striker was brought down just outside the D-Box. A very poor kick was supposed to be an easy save for HUFC kepper but as he couldn't get a good grip on the ball, the ball then dropped from his grip, hit the first bar and rolled towards the second bar only to cross the line then. GBFC lead the match 2 - 1.
In second half of the extra time HUFC tried everything to level the score but then it was getting too late for them. A game in which they already had one hand in it, blew their chances of securing their first ever Championship Shield. Where as for GBFC this was a grand success as they also won the GNC league.
